Total renovation of an existing Indonesian house into a tropical modern House.

As the structure was in very good conditions, we decided to keep as much as possible of the existing one and focus on the optimization of the spaces.

For this Villa we tried to keep the precious natural materials such as stones and old recycled wood as heritage stamped on the new renovated structure, adding antique pieces in the new modern house.

In addition, we integrated a living room, dinner and kitchen in a common open space; adding a “pasiva” (pergola corridor with columns) with an “al fresco” dining spot under a pergola with falling flowers surrounding the new swimming pool. The existing room on the second floor was extended, adding a bathroom, kitchenette, small living area and moving the stair case to the side of the House, obtaining an independent loft apartment on the second level.

The parking area was extended and the main entrance was moved, transforming an old unused space for the new technical room and BBQ corner in the garden.
